ENTERTAINMENTDon Jazzy inspired me to become influencer – Singer Slimcase
Nigerian singer Oluwafemi Oladapo, aka Slimcase, has revealed that veteran singer and music executive, Don Jazzy, inspired him to transit from singing to content creating and influencing.
The ‘Shaku Shaku’ hitmaker disclosed this in a recent interview with Naija FM, Lagos.
He said, “I didn’t decide to become a content creator/influencer. I just found myself doing it. As I was doing music and seeing trends online, I got inspired by Don Jazzy.
I looked at Don Jazzy’s way of life, from music to other things; how he has stayed relevant through the years and I was inspired. That has really helped me to hold my fans till the right music comes.”
Slimcase’s revelation is coming barely a week after Wizkid was bashed online for referring to Don Jazzy as an “influencer.”
DAILY POST recalls that Wizkid fired shots at Don Jazzy after his signee, rapper Ladipoe mocked the Grammy-winning singer for claiming that ‘hip hop is dead’.
On his X handle, Ladipoe wrote, “Nigerian rappers that survived ‘hip hop is dead’ watching Afrobeat artistes go through their own.”
After a fan alerted Wizkid to the post, he reacted by saying, “Lol, never chatting with anyone signed to an influencer. Next.”
He also retweeted two tweets suggesting that he referred to Don Jazzy as an influencer. Wizkid’s subtle shade at Don Jazzy sparked reactions from Nigerians online, including celebrities such as skit makers Mr Macaroni and Nasboi, and reality stars, Doyin and Tacha.
